The VTKFAE is an association representing Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun in Europe. Head of this organization is Philipp Bayer, a former Yugoslavia born German.

Philipp Bayer

Philip went to Hong Kong in 1983 and met Wong Shun Leung. His training started. Because of great interest in Wong’s Ving Tsun in Germany, he founded the Ving Tsun Martial Arts Association.

In 1990, this association changed its name and became known as: Ving Tsun Kung Fu Association Europe. The reason for this was that Wong Shun Leung didn’t find the phrase 'Martial Art' well suited to his Ving Tsun. He said, "Ving Tsun is not an art, it's a skill."

”Ving Tsun is not an art, it’s a skill.”

The Netherlands joined the VTKFAE in 1995. However, the schools that had joined, already had 20 years of experience in Wang Kiu Ving Tsun.  However, Wong Shun Leung's system had different principles and strategie. Reasons for many to start all over again. In the meantime, the VTKFAE Netherlands has already celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2014.

Philipp explains during a seminar

Wong Shun Leung has visited many schools of the VTKFAE and has led many seminars. Also in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, he died in 1997. Philipp Bayer is now the one who leads the seminars to VTKFAE schools and schools outside. With the insights and principles of Wong Shun Leung, he is increasingly convinced of Wong's system. Within Europe, there are already more than 50 schools in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Hungary, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Moldova, Croatia, Poland, Hungary and the United Kingdom. The European borders have already been crossed to the United States. The Netherlands has 9 schools.

"Over 50 schools, but NOT commercially driven!"

However, the interests of the VTKFAE are not commercial. Our goal is not based on money or innumerable members. Quality and spreading of Wong's Ving Tsun are the main drivers.
